A bunch of Grand Theft Auto: China Town Wars have been revealed thanks to the latest issue of Nintendo Power (big thanks to Biggity for some of the details!)

– Cell-shaded graphics/polygons – black borders
– It’s a “real” GTA game – There’s sandbox gameplay, a totally open world, narrative
– Going to be rated M
– Camera angle is isometric (Phantom Hourglass?)
– good touch-screen implementation – “tasteful” minigames, streamlining interface
– UI based on a PDA – hub for email, contacts, map, music player, GPS, stat-tracking
– finger-sized icons
– missions designed for shorter periods of play, arcade quality
– Control pad = aim, R button = auto target
– subtle autosteer
– if you fail a mission, you can jump back to the action sequence
– Weapons include chain gun, flamethrower
– good portion of Liberty City is modeled in the game (different routes than console games)
– Load times aren’t an issue
– lots of pedestrians, cars, etc on screen
– Wanted system – objective is to disable police cars any way possible
– Weather effects (real-time), 24-hour day/night cycle
– A ton of radio stations – more instrumental than vocal
– Wi-Fi and multiplayer support isn’t being discussed, but can upload stats to Rockstar Social Club website through Wi-Fi

Yesterday, we learned that Marvelous Games has a few announcements in store. One is in relation to the DS and two other revelations for the Wii. Nintendo Power has shed light on one of the Marvelous’ surprises: Muramasa: The Demon Blade. Muramasa: The Demon Blade, otherwise known as Oboro Muramasa Youtouden, will be releasing in North America sometime next year. Now, who wants to take a crack at the other two announcements?

On Oct. 20, Nintendos Wii Music Makes Maestros of Everyone

Wii Sports introduced new players to the world of video games. Wii Fit got even more people interested in fun and fitness.

Now Wii Music builds on that inclusive legacy by letting people turn their living rooms into fun concert halls. It brings the experience of performing music to people who think learning an instrument is too difficult. Wii Music launches exclusively for the Wii console on Oct. 20 and aims to bring a deeper love and appreciation of music to everyone.

Players can improvise jams on the fly with more than 60 instruments. You will find rock favorites like the electric guitar; orchestra standards like trumpet, saxophone and clarinet; and even international instruments like steel drums, marimba and sitar. Players simply select their instruments, and then move their Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers as though they were playing the real thing. Wii Music turns players movements into great music, even if youve never picked up an instrument before.

Budding musicians can play along to the beat of a diverse array of more than 50 songs from a variety of genres including popular, licensed, classical and Nintendo songs. Or players can improvise by adding new beats or creative twists to the songs. The combinations are endless, and its all for the joy of creating fun new tunes.

Once players have their song the way they like it, they can forward it to friends who are also playing Wii Music via the Wii Message Board. Those friends can then put their own spin on the tune and send it back or pass it along to their friends.

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Kirby™, the loveable, powerful, spherical pink Nintendo character, is making a comeback in a big way. Today thousands of pink, lighter-than-air mini-Kirby clouds took flight in the skies above four U.S. cities with neighborhoods that share the Kirby name. This celestial festival celebrates the Sept. 22 launch of Kirby’s game for Nintendo DS™, Kirby Super Star™ Ultra.

“We brought Kirby back in way that helped our ‘super tuff pink puff’ literally take off,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “To date, more than 20 million Kirby games have sold worldwide, making Kirby one of our most popular characters. Kirby Super Star Ultra is a game that will please both veteran and new gamers alike.”

Residents of Kirby-named neighborhoods across the country might have noticed legions of Kirby characters floating through their skies today. These Flogos, as they are called, are creations made from environmentally friendly soapy bubbles and lighter-than-air gas. Kirby images floated over:

* Norwood Park next to Kirby Middle School in Birmingham, Ala.
* The historic Kirby’s Mill in Medford, N.J.
* The Kirby Gate shopping center in Memphis, Tenn.
* Kirby Park in Kingston, Penn.

“We gave our one-of-a-kind creations a special look for this special Nintendo character by adding coloring to our bubble mixture for the first time ever,” said Greg Stanhope, Director of Sales for Flogos. “Kirby deserved a uniquely creative event.”
