“We are fans of the Wii Zapper. Our ‘Ghost Squad’ game keeps selling. We have more Zapper games going. The same for the Wii Balance Board, although we have nothing announced yet.” – Simon Jeffery, SEGA of America

This might be crazy (well, I have to admit that this is a ridiculous idea), but how about a Sonic game that uses the Wii balance board. It’d be pretty hilarious to watch someone running to emulate Sonic’s insane speed. Or, how about some monkey ball action?

Back in action

It feels verrrrrrry nice to be home right now. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy my vacation, but it’s good to go back to what you’re used to. I have to admit, I missed updating the website. Unfortunately, I noticed that there was only one update from Jackson while I was away…And that was it. I openly apologize for that, since I thought Jackson would be able to do at least a few dozen news posts for sure.

Anyway, like I said, I am back and it’s good to be back. I’ll start posting casually for now but will start posting seriously in the next hour or so. Don’t forget, the NPD numbers are today!

Big news updates

Woah, it’s…Valay?! Yep! I’m here in my hotel and saw that there weren’t too many updates…I apologize for that. I’m hoping Jackson will be able to cover more today, but I was actually able to find Internet access and provide some of the more significant news from the past day or so. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do so again, but I’ll do my best.

Hey folks. Just wanted to give you an update about a fairly important site notice. I’m going to be on vacation today (8/11) and will not be back until 8/14, this Thursday. However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be updates. I’ve been “training” Jackson for updates and now he’s ready. Jackson will be providing updates throughout the week until I return. Until then, the forum has been closed as I will not be able to moderate it and I will not be able to respond to emails until I get back as well. I might be able to check up on the site to make sure everything’s alright, but for the most part, I really am taking a vacation!

Have a good week and see you all on Thursday!

If your idea of a superhero is someone with an invincible ego who can type e-mails while wearing boxing gloves, then the Wii™ Shop Channel has great news for you. The legendary Strong Bad (from the popular Homestar Runner Web series) makes his eagerly anticipated WiiWare™ debut this week. For even more laughs and clever gaming kicks, you’ll also find a satirical space-age shooter on the Virtual Console™, along with a classic billiards game for those who prefer to keep their feet planted firmly on the ground.

Nintendo adds new and classic games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii™ owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week’s new games are:

To most, this year’s E3 was the most disappointing Nintendo conference over the past three years  – even more so than last year – due to Nintendo’s increasingly blatant focus on the casual audience. How exactly did Nintendo’s most recent press conference stack up to its previous two years though? Well, over the past three years, the total of games the company has decided to present – for both Wii and DS – have declined considerably. Believe it or not, this applies to third-parties as well. Overall, E3 2008 saw the biggest shift in Nintendo’s attention and also saw a big drop in titles. It will be very interesting to see how Nintendo approaches next year’s E3 if they continue on this pace – if there is another E3, that is. Below are a number of statistics that compare different categories for Nintendo’s three latest press conferences.
