Many gaming events were either cancelled or shifted to in-person events this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. No one can predict how things will play out in 2021, but at least for now, ReedPop and Penny Arcade are looking for a return to normalcy. PAX East 2021, PAX West 2021, and PAX Unplugged 2021 are all currently planned as in-person events, assuming it’ll be safe to do so.

PAX East 2021 will be held between June 3 and June 6 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. PAX West 2021 will follow between September 3 and September 6 at the Washington State Convention Center. Finally, PAX Unplugged is planned between December 10 and December 12 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

All of these events will feature “unforgettable panels, exciting esports showdowns, hands-on demos, and sneak peeks of the future of gaming.” Fans can look forward to “new game reveals, world-first previews, community gaming areas, and much more.”

PAX event director Kyle Marsden-Kish said in a statement:

“While we look forward to hosting shows in 2021, we are first and foremost members of the local communities in Boston, Philadelphia, and Seattle, where we call home. We care deeply for the health and safety of our amazing attendees and industry partners who have brought PAX to life for 17 years. We are cautiously optimistic about improvements in the global COVID-19 situation next year, but we are carefully monitoring the situation to make sure PAX only proceeds if deemed safe to do so.”

As for PAX South 2021, it’s taking a year off and will return in 2022. Information regarding PAX Australia 2021 will be shared “in the coming weeks.”
