Planet Cube: Edge

Publisher Firestoke and developer Sunna Entertainment have revealed that Planet Cube: Edge, a run-and-gun platformer, will be released on Switch in the future.

Here’s an overview of the premise:

Welcome to the Planet Cube! A peaceful, cube-shaped world which is about to be disrupted by an unknown force. After waking up to chaos in the Underwater Weapons Research Facility, the skilled engineer Edge takes to arms with a prototype Photon Blaster. Join his quest, as he treads through the intricate Complex to find out the identity and purpose of the Invaders before they overtake the planet. Can he alone restore Planet Cube to its previous state?

Planet Cube: Edge has players going through the Weapons Research Facility while taking on hordes of invading enemies, dodging hazards, avoiding traps, and navigating the maze-like way to the surface in hopes of saving other Cubemates. Areas include seascapes of the ocean floor, nuts and bolts of the Underwater Facility, and more. Although it’s said to be a challenging game with simple but hard to master controls, there are a lot of respawns (which are also immediate).

Bosses are included across the different themed areas to mix up the action. Leaderboards are also included, so users may want to try beating other players’ runs.

Planet Cube: Edge is currently planned for release in 2022. Stay tuned for a final release date.
