It’s now July 20 in Japan. Today was supposed to be the day when Pokemon GO launched in the country, based on reports which surfaced several hours ago. However, those plans have apparently been delayed.

Internal communication from McDonald’s Japan concerning Pokemon GO’s arrival leaked hours ago and quickly spread online. Once it went viral, the app’s release was supposedly moved from the morning to early afternoon. The parties involved eventually decided to cancel today’s launch as a whole, TechCrunch writes. The site says there were “concerns that the hype generated would overload the game.”

So when will Pokemon GO come to Japan? News outlet Nikkei says it’ll happen on Friday. Meanwhile, TechCrunch adds that the launch is “imminent”.
