River City Girls 2 now launching in North America “sometime after its originally expected late summer 2022”

WayForward has provided an update on River City Girls 2, announcing that the game will now be available in North America “sometime after its originally expected late summer 2022”. Specifics beyond that were not announced. However, some new cover art was shared on social media, which we have above.
River City Girls 2 was first revealed in June 2021. WayForward had hoped that the game would be ready for this summer, but that didn’t happen in the end.
Today’s news comes at an interesting time as River City Girls 2 was just given a December 1 release date in Japan. What remains to be seen is what will happen overseas. Will North America and Europe get the game in December or later this year? Right now that question can’t be answered.
River City Girls 2 will initially be sold as an eShop download when it’s ready to go. However, WayForward has teamed up with Limited Run Games on a number of physical versions that are planned for a later date. We should have much more information about that in the future.
