Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin arrives on Switch November 10 in North America, November 12 in Japan, and November 20 in Europe and Australia. An update has arrived to the Japanese official website with information on the game’s cooking and farm tool creation elements. You can see the videos below as well as information and screenshots as rounded up by Gematsu after the break:

Cooking and Farm Tool Creation

Material Collection

You can obtain ingredients and minerals, which can be used to cook or forge farm tools, from collection sites such as grassy thickets, and from defeated enemies.

Cooking

By eating food created with collected ingredients, you can gain effects such as a temporary power increase or spontaneous recovery. The effect will be greater if you cook with seasonal ingredients.

Processing Food Material

Food material will go bad as time goes by, but some food material can be processed for long-term preservation.

Forging and Weaving

By using materials, you can forge new weapons and garments. Weapons increase your attack power, while garments bestow special effects.

Unsealing True Power

By satisfying predetermined conditions, you can unseal the true power of equipment and unlock special effects. You can also equip Edatama that possess special effects.

Farm Tool Development

By creating new farm tools with collected materials, you can significantly increase your farming efficiency.

Collection Requests

You can ask other characters to collect materials for you. Depending on who you ask, their haul will differ and they may find things other than materials.
