Starbreeze Studios wants to update Payday 2 on Switch with voice chat support once Nintendo allows for it

As things stand now, Payday 2 has no voice communication option on Switch. That’s a rather important deal given how integral communicating with other players is to the experience.
For its part, Starbreeze Studios does hope to offer voice chat in the future. A spokesperson told Kotaku:
“We are waiting to be able to participate in Nintendo’s VOIP app solution. As soon as we are given the go-ahead, this is definitely on our list to look into to update.”
While players wait for voice chat on Switch, Starbreeze hopes fans will pursue alternatives:
“Payday 2 is as you know a co-op game first and foremost and we want to give our players the means to communicate. For now, we have our official and verified Discord server as an option.”
