This week’s issue of Famitsu has a sizable update on Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages. The magazine offers four pages of coverage with new details about the game.

One of the more notable aspects of Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages is that Nintendo costumes will be featured. Players can dress up as the likes of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad. Interestingly, these will take on more than just appearance changes, as they’ll have some effects as well. Mario’s costume raises movement speed while Peach’s costume makes it easier to raise friendships.

Speaking of appearance, players can customize their looks in various ways. You can change your clothes, accessories, and hair (including hair style and its color). Hair styles can be changed at an accessory shop in Tsuyukusa Village.

Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages will include cooking as a feature. You can obtain recipes, too.

Example of recipe effects include:

– Milky Salad: regenerate health
– Kenchinjiru: move faster
– Nasi Goreng: lower health reduction
– Croquette: easier fishing

Fishing is another gameplay element of Story of Seasons: Good Friends of Three Villages. There will be different fish per fishing location and season. Also, you can raise fishes in a box at Lulucoco.

Hinata and Komari are introduced as new bride and groom candidates in Tsuyukusa Village. Komari is a waitress in the teahouse. She’s cheery and can come off as a tomboy at times. According to Famitsu, Hinata has dreams of becoming an actor. He heads to the village in hopes of making money for his family.

Other characters introduced in Famitsu are as follows:

– Ittetsu (father/husband): in charge of the food material shop; silent and a bit emotionless; not sure how to approach children
– Shizu (mother/wife): works at the Dry Goods shop; active and cheery
– Tatsumi (son): personality resembles his mother
– Yaichi (son): more like his father
