Switch was the best-selling console in the UK during Black Friday 2022

Switch is several years old at this point, but it still managed to be the best-selling gaming console during Black Friday 2022 in the UK. That’s based on data from GfK Entertainment.
Switch accounted for 42 percent of all console’s sold during the week. The system received a boost thanks to its Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle, which also includes a three month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
While Switch did quite well, it actually performed a bit worse compared to Nintendo’s previous Black Friday. GfK boss Dorian Bloch said the system’s volumes “are way down over Black Friday 2021, as both Sony and Microsoft also targeted Black Friday week with tempting offers.” Still, Switch saw its biggest sales week of the year.
GfK has confirmed that Black Friday this year between physical games, accessories, and consoles was slightly bigger than it was last year with a four percent increase. 2022 was the eighth biggest Black Friday, out of the ten that have happened in the UK so far. The breakdown of revenue for Black Friday 2022 was 41 percent for consoles, 39 percent for accessories and 21 percent for physical games.
