Battle Chasers: Nightwar launches May 15 on Switch

Following a lengthy delay, Battle Chasers: Nightwar has finally secured a release date on Switch. THQ Nordic has announced that it’s due out on May 15.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar will cost $39.99 / €39.99 / £34.99 on Switch. That applies to both physical and digital releases.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar features a mix of dungeon crawling and turn-based combat gameplay. It also has “a rich story and a gorgeous JRPG style”.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar approved for Switch release

The long wait for Battle Chasers: Nightwar on Switch is almost over. It has now been approved by Nintendo, which is one of the final steps needed prior to launch.

Developer Airship Syndicate tweeted out the following today:

Battle Chasers: Nightwar has been approved for release on #Switch by Nintendo. Our pub @THQNordic is working on the final step: manufacturing/distribution details (takes a while to make and get on shelves). Official release date announcement coming soon! pic.twitter.com/TkDKdJO4O7

Switch version of Battle Chasers: Nightwar submitted to Nintendo for approval

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is taking one big step forward towards its Switch launch. The game has finally been submitted to Nintendo, which is one of the final steps of the process. When it’s approved, a release date will be announced.

Airship Syndicate passed along the news on Twitter:

Switch owners have been waiting months for a concrete Battle Chasers release date. Thankfully, the saga should soon be over.

Airship Syndicate provided a new status update on the Switch version of Battle Chasers: Nightwar today.

Lately, the team has been taking care of some “tricky bugs”. These have now been addressed and the game has returned to QA.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar dev made “significant breakthroughs” with Switch, getting closer to release

Battle Chasers: Nightwar has been out on a number of platforms for quite some time. Unfortunately, the Switch version has been missing in action. Airship Syndicate had some issues with Unity that have taken awhile to address.

A new Kickstarter post provides an update on the situation, and thankfully, we have good news to report. The team “made some significant breakthroughs” and believes a build will be submitted to Nintendo “very soon.” The actual release will still take a number of weeks though since even after Nintendo has approved it, THQ Nordic’s manufacturing could take six weeks.
