Atlus talks about the adjustments made for The Legend of Legacy’s overseas release
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Atlus has been saying for awhile now that some improvements were made for the western release for The Legend of Legacy. We’re less than a week away from the game’s arrival in North America, and we finally have information on this front.
Most of the adjustments pertain to New Game+. Here’s the news straight from Atlus’ John Hardin:
- In NG+, all the money and formations you designed now carry over. Any special weapons you created will also be available to purchase in the shop.
- Drop rates for items and materials was increased across the board. Drop rate for rare items goes up in subsequent NG+. FICTITIOUS EXAMPLE TO ILLUSTRATE THIS POINT: The made-up drop rates for a rare item could be in the first 1st Game – 1%, in NG+ 5%, NG++ 8%, NG+++ 10% etc. Let me stress that these numbers are made up and I have no idea what they are for actual items.
- Finally, the time it takes the trade ship to return is decreased substantially. The ship uses real-world time, and we’ve decreased the amount of time it takes to return.
We’ll have a review up for The Legend of Legacy later today!

Stella Glow “The Knights of Regnant” trailer and details
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Videos | 2 Comments
The latest update on Stella Glow introduces us to the The Knights of Regnant.
First, take a look at the new trailer below:
And here are the latest details:
When you’re just a lowly villager about to be obliterated at the hands of Hilda, Witch of Destruction, and moments before your certain demise you get saved at the last second by the knights of the land, you tend to feel indebted to those knights and do whatever it takes to join their ranks.
Well, that’s what Stella Glow’s protagonist, Alto does at least! And good for him too, since the Regnant Knights’ 9th Regiment are some of the baddest mofos around and fully capable of stopping Hilda and her Harbingers. I mean, look at Archibald. You don’t say stuff like this if you can’t back it up:
Archibald, Klaus, and Rusty make up your fellow squadmates who will help recruit other Witches and stop Hilda. Oh, and don’t forget, they’re also people you can form bonds with during Free Time (bromances, even)!
Stella Glow arrives in North America on November 17.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Final has a partner system
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments
A few more details about Shin Megami Tensei IV Final have surfaced via Famitsu’s coverage.
In the game, Atlus is including a new partner system. This allows players to choose a character among a group of allies to support them in combat.
The different partners will come with their own skills. Asahi specializes in recovery whereas Navarre focuses on using attack items and support magic, for instance.
During each turn in a fight, partners assist the protagonist. Partners also become more powerful as they fight alongside the protagonist. As an example, as Asahi levels up, she will learn new healing abilities like being able to heal status ailments.

Shin Megami Tensei IV Final producer – origins, improvements, trying to make the top 3DS RPG
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 5 Comments
This week’s issue of Famitsu shares the first details about Shin Megami Tensei IV Final. Additionally, the magazine contains an interview with producer Kazuyuki Yamai.
Yamai first talked about how the project came to be:
“We were wondering if there was anything we could do that’s characteristic of Maniax [makers of the enhanced version of Nocturne with Dante, and also Shin Megami Tensei IV] and as we investigated on what could be done, we realized that we just wanted to make a completely new title, and the development started there. ‘Let’s use this occasion to make everything clear’ – those are the thoughts that went into this title, and that’s why we put ‘Final’ in it.”
There are two major points for Shin Megami Tensei IV Final. The first is the necessary “reality” that shows mankind at their limited state while the other is having players step into its ambiguously told story. The latter is because it’ll be a simple RPG in terms of gameplay. The theme is about “should I bond with, or kill them all?”
