Chromophore: The Two Brothers Director’s Cut

AckkStudios has long been working on a couple of projects for Wii U. The first, YIIK, is starting to near the end of development and is also now on the way to Switch. The other is Chromophore: The Two Brothers Director’s Cut.

In February, AckkStudios said that Chromophore: The Two Brothers Director’s Cut is still happening. Nothing has changed since then, as the game is in the pipeline. It will receive the studio’s full attention once YIIK is fully complete. Of course, it remains to be seen where it’ll end up – likely Switch at the very least.

Many indie developers have been shifting plans from Wii U to Switch over the past few weeks. However, AckkStudios is remaining steadfast in bringing previously-announced titles to the console.

YIIK and Chromophore: The Two Brothers Director’s Cut are both still planned for Wii U. Even though AckkStudios hasn’t had much to say about either game as of late, it doesn’t look like anything has changed.

Chromophore: The Two Brothers has long been slated for Wii U. It’s been a long process for AckkStudios, but now that Y2K is wrapping up, the developer is shifting its attention back to that game.

The official Chromophore website has now been updated here. The new release window now appears to be Q3 of this year with development now 75 percent complete. If anything changes, we’ll let you know.

Wii U owners have been waiting a long time for Chromophore: The Two Brothers Director’s Cut on the Wii U eShop. By the end of this year or early 2016, the RPG should finally be available.

AckkStudios had been working with a third party to port over the PC version to Wii U. Unfortunately, even though it had been fully paid for, the conversion was never completed and the partnership broke down. That’s in spite of the fact that the money had been paid for the port. Needless to say, AckkStudios has been involved with a legal situation that has apparently now been resolved.

It’s taken awhile for Two Brothers to reach Wii U, but the wait should be worth it. AckkStudios has implemented several improvements, which the studio detailed on Twitter:
