Batsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted

City Connection has announced Batsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted, a new version of Toaplan’s 1993 vertical shooter for Switch. A release is scheduled for May 25, 2023 in Japan.

Metal Black S-Tribute

Original (1/5): City Connection will release Metal Black S-Tribute on Switch, the company announced today. The game is due out on February 2, 2023 for PC, but it’s unclear if this applies to Nintendo’s console as well.

City Connection has put a few other S-Tribute games on Switch previously. These include Layer Section & Galactic Attack S-Tribute, Cleopatra Fortune S-Tribute, and Elevator Action Returns S-Tribute.

Puzzle Bobble 2X / Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition & Puzzle Bobble 3 / Bust-A-Move 3 S-Tribute

Metal Black S-Tribute isn’t the only new reveal from City Connection today, as the company has also announced Puzzle Bobble 2X / Bust-A-Move 2 Arcade Edition & Puzzle Bobble 3 / Bust-A-Move 3 S-Tribute. PC will be getting it on February 2, 2023, but it remains to be seen if this applies to Switch as well.

Elevator Action Returns S-Tribute

Elevator Action Returns S-Tribute is heading to Switch, City Connection confirmed today. Fans can pick it up on December 1, 2022.

Taito originally developed Elevator Action Returns in 1995, though Bing came out with a console version in 1997 which is what the upcoming release is based on. It’s a 2D side-scrolling shooter in which players look to take down a terrorist group by eliminating nuclear bombs that they’ve placed. Expect various features for the S-Tribute version including rewind.

Cleopatra Fortune S-Tribute

City Connection is bringing Cleopatra Fortune S-Tribute to Switch, the company confirmed today. A release is scheduled for November 24, 2022.

Cleopatra Fortune, which was made by Taito and Natsume, is an an arcade puzzle game. New features have been made for this version such as a rewind function.

Akai Katana Shin

Original (8/18): City Connection, in partnership with Cave, has announced that Akai Katana Shin is appearing on Switch on December 15, 2022. English, Japanese, French, and Spanish language options are planned.

Those in Japan will be able to pick up the standard digital edition for 3,410 yen or standard physical edition for 4,400 yen. Also planned is a physical special edition will for 6,600 yen, featuring the Akai Katana Daisuke Matsumoto Arrange soundtrack CD and an instruction card-style acrylic panel.

Layer Section & Galactic Attack S-Tribute

Taito has announced Layer Section & Galactic Attack S-Tribute, an updated version of the classic arcade shoot ’em up originally released in 1995. Switch will be getting it later this month.

Layer Section is the home console version of the arcade game RayForce, which released on SEGA Saturn. Galactic Attack comes into play as that is the overseas version of Layer Section. 

New features are planned such as rewind, Slow Mode, online rankings, and more.
