Retailer listings recently pointed to a delay for Darksiders Warmastered Edition. Today, publisher THQ Nordic confirmed the news.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition will arrive on the Wii U eShop on November 22. A physical retail version will follow “at a later stage.” Originally, it was planned for October 25.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition, which is an updated re-release of the original game, is apparently being released a month later than originally announced. Both Amazon and Gamestop are listing the game’s release date as November 22nd, as opposed to the initially announced October 25th.

Of course, this is not an official confirmation just yet, but since the original release date is just 11 days away, we should know for sure one way or another pretty soon. We will keep you updated.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition? will be making its playable debut at Gamescom 2016 later this month, Nordic Games confirmed today. It shouldn’t be much longer before we see footage of the new version.

Nordic will be bringing out Darksiders Warmastered Edition? on October 25. The game sports some new graphical effects, such as improved rendering and twice the texture resolution. It will also run at native 1080p resolution.

Gamescom 2016 will be open to the public between August 18 and August 21.

GameFly recently listed the original Darksiders for Wii U. Nordic Games has now come forward, officially confirming the game for Nintendo’s console. Online features will be present, though that may only extend to Miiverse.

Darksiders will be released physically and digitally during Q4 2016 for €20 (probably $20). Nordic is also readying new merchandise for the franchise.

Back during the Wii U’s launch, THQ ported Darksiders to Wii U. Now several years later, the system may be receiving the series’ original entry. GameFly lists Darksiders for Wii U as “coming soon”.

Nordic Games business and product development director Reinhard Pollice mentioned last month that the company has an action-adventure title planned for Wii U. There’s no announcement yet, but this certainly could be it.

When THQ closed its doors, a large portion of former developers from Vigil Games moved on to Crytek USA. But just last month, Vigil founder and Crytek USA head David Adams left the company. He has since gone on to create a brand new independent studio, Gunfire Games.

Gunfire Games is just getting started and is employing a handful of people. All are leads from Crytek USA.

While things are definitely early, Adams told Polygon that Gunfire is exploring the possibility of returning to Darksiders. In fact, the studio has spoken with Darksiders IP owner Nordic Games.

Nordic Games still isn’t ready to make any announcements about Darksiders. The company is currently “looking at all possible design directions”, product development director Reinhard Pollice told GenGAME.

That being said, Nordic says that Darksiders has a future “and it will be awesome.” Pollice also mentioned how fans should keep the series on their radar and keep track of what the company is announcing in the future.
