Devil’s Third – the 7-year developed title by Tomonobu Itagaki and his team at Valhalla Game Studios – is officially out as of today in Japan, with Europe getting an August 28th release and North America slated for Q4 2015. Famitsu interviewed Valhalla Game Studios’ Tomonobu Itagaki in one of its recent issues. Today, Itagaki posted the entire transcript in English for all to see.

We’ve picked out a few highlights below. Those include the game’s lengthy development, the process of getting the game on Wii U, and more.

Nintendo published another round of screenshots from Devil’s Third today. In addition to single-player, we also have a new look at multiplayer. Check out all of the new screenshots below.

Last month, Nintendo uploaded a new Devil’s Third video to its YouTube channel. This video – which features an interview with creator Tomonobu Itagaki – has now been translated into English. We’ve posted it below.

The official Japanese website for Devil’s Third was launched recently and it revealed some new details about the game.

First of all, you will need quite a bit of space if you plan on downloading the game as it takes up 16.4GB. Each Wii U user gets his own save file, which takes up 16 MB. You can use either the Gamepad or a Wii U Pro Controller to play the game – other control options aren’t supported.

Finally, the website confirms that microtransactions will be in the game. You can buy “Golden Eggs” with actual currency, which you can trade for new weapons and armor or for in-game currency.

Bringing Devil’s Third to Wii U wasn’t an entirely easy task for Valhalla Game Studios. That’s all because of the engine used to create the game – Unreal Engine 3.

Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of Devil’s Third, noted on his Facebook page that the team experienced struggles working with Unreal Engine 3. While Valhalla Game Studios was able to obtain the source code needed for the engine on Wii U, they needed to adapt it themselves “with special customization”. The developers also came up with their own binaries.

Nintendo released a new Japanese introduction video for Devil’s Third today. Give it a look below.

Yesterday, Valhalla Game Studios announced that a PC version of Devil’s Third is in development. This won’t include the story mode featured on Wii U, though it will come with free-to-start online multiplayer.

Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of Devil’s Third, has offered up an additional tidbit of information through his Facebook page. Itagaki said that the game’s online play isn’t compatible between Wii U and PC. If you planning on picking up the game on Wii U and playing with someone who downloaded the title for PC, that unfortunately won’t be possible.
