Elliot Quest

Elliot Quest just recently received a patch that adds elements like the Miiverse Journal and the ability to change the control scheme. Unfortunately, however, it also brought about a major issue. After applying the latest update, players are unable to progress past the Desert area.

A fix has already been submitted to Nintendo, which is tentatively scheduled for release on August 19. PlayEveryWare apologized for the inconvenience caused in an official Miiverse post.

The latest update for Elliot Quest is out now. Today’s update brings the game up to version 1.2.3.

After applying the new patch, players can begin using new features like the Miiverse Journal and Stamps. PlayEveryWare also improved Elliot Quest’s performance, and has removed frame skips/hiccups in busy areas.

PlayEveryWare has made a couple of big announcements pertaining to Elliot Quest.

First, the game’s next big update is due out on July 30. This will add the Miiverse Journal and Miiverse Stamps. PlayEveryWare will be celebrating the new update with a 15 percent discount in North America and Europe for two weeks following the release of the update.

Also revealed today is that Elliot Quest is coming to 3DS. We don’t have an exact date, but it should arrive sometime in 2016.

Elliot Quest creator Luis Zuno appears to be pleased with the game’s sales performance on Wii U. Although specific numbers weren’t shared, Zuno told 4 color rebellion that sales coming from Nintendo’s console have been “much bigger than on Steam.”

Zuno also mentioned that bringing Elliot Quest to consoles was no easy feat. That’s why he’s thankful for PlayEveryWare’s efforts in porting the title to Wii U.

“…putting the game on the console has been a long journey and a lot of work and I definitely couldn’t have got there on my own, which is why I’m thankful for the help from PlayEveryWare to get there.

Elliot Quest launched for Wii U on March 19. The European release took place about a month later.

Elliot Quest is receiving another new update later this month. On Miiverse, PlayEveryWare outlined what we can expect.

The big new addition is the arrival of the Miiverse Journal. This allows players to “directly post to Miiverse about what secrets you’ve found, take notes on what areas you need to come back to, or what puzzles you’re having trouble with”. The journal also shows all posts made by the community in that same room and all of the posts you’ve made on the island of Urele. Lastly, you can “Yeah!” another player’s post or quickly jump into the Miiverse app to respond to others.

Aside from the Miiverse Journal, PlayEveryWare is putting in option to change the control scheme. There will be several performance improvements as well.


Elliot Quest’s 1.2.2 update is out now in Europe. This patch addresses significant bugs, and also improves memory performance so that the game runs smoother.

PlayEveryWare issued a new Elliot Quest patch yesterday. Version 1.2.2 addresses various bugs, including a major one in which players were getting stuck in the graveyard after beating one of the game’s bosses.

Elliot Quest just received a patch last week that was intended to be a bug fix. However, more issues have cropped up, and another update is in the works.

Elliot Quest’s latest patch is out now. After applying the 1.2.1 update, players will find a much more stable experience.

The new Elliot Quest patch addresses an issue with the Graveyard area in which some players were getting stuck. Additionally, PlayEveryWare says that “A few other areas have been adjusted and tuned as well.”

Elliot Quest suffers from a few issues on Wii U. Destructoid points out that the frame rate dips considerably after Elliot obtains his first ability when used in areas with multiple enemies or weather effects. That’s on top of other problems, such as one in which the player exits an area, only to be taken to a different part of the map.

Destructoid additionally mentions the following in its report:

In the northern part of the map, you’ll find two graveyards. The northmost one has a boss fight and the one below that has a gravestone that can be pushed to fall into a crypt where you find a painting. Upon exiting this crypt, the game glitched, causing me to go back to the area where the aforementioned boss fight took place, only now there was no way to exit the stage and the game saved in this area.

Thankfully, PlayEveryware is aware of the glitch and is already on the case. A patch has already been submitted to Nintendo and should hopefully release next week. We’ll let you know when it goes live.
