Fire Emblem

Destructoid has put up an article with a few details about how the Marth and Ike amiibo come into play in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. Find them rounded up below.

– Can use Marth and Ike once the character select screen is available
– Simply tap them down after pressing the “amiibo” button on a New 3DS system
– Fire Emblem characters are available until they die in battle
– Revive characters after the mission is over
– Marth’s main power is Destiny
– This lets him avoid Overwatch counter-attacks from enemies, which is balanced out by his main statline
– Marth can use his falchion (his core melee weapon)
– He can also use a less steam-costly rapier
– Rapier is less powerful, but more precision-based
– The rapier has the added benefit of bringing an Overwatch counterattack to the table, and it can hit weak points for a bigger steam-to-damage ratio
– Marth and Ike can’t use sub-weapons
– Marth has a low defense rating and a lower HP pool
– Marth also has an area-of-effect (AOE) heal
– Ike has almost 50% more health than Marth
– Ike has a larger steam pool and a better recharge rate
– “Push” can be used by Ike to move crates or enemies
– Ike’s main blade is Ragnell, which has a weak ranged ability
– Ike’s secondary weapon is Urvan
– This is an axe weapon that can hit multiple enemies right in front of him
– Ike has no Overwatch abilities

It was announced last month that a special 25th anniversary concert for Fire Emblem will be held in Japan this summer. In an update published on the official website, new details are shared about what will be happening.

Saori Seto, the voice of Anna and Severa, will host the event. We also know that the developers will be discussing Fire Emblem games old and new during a talk show. Additionally, there will be an original mini drama featuring voice actors from the games. That’s all on top of the actual concert, of course!

Fire Emblem concert tickets will cost 7,500 yen. A raffle will be held on April 20, and tickets will then be formally sold starting on June 7.

Does the image above look familiar? It should. We posted something like it yesterday. There is now one major change though: the text on top says “Games coming for Nintendo 3DS” as opposed to “Games coming in 2015 on Nintendo 3DS”.

nintendo-email-2

If you missed out on our original story, the image comes from a Nintendo of Australia email, which was reissued today since “there was an error in the listed release dates of Nintendo 3DS titles.” Unfortunately, that means Fire Emblem isn’t confirmed for a 2015 launch in the west after all. I’d still say it’s very possible that it happens, but we no longer have a “confirmation”.

The new Fire Emblem game for 3DS is heading to Japan this summer. It’d probably make sense for it to arrive overseas this year then, right? While we don’t have official confirmation, an email from Nintendo of Australia suggests that the new Fire Emblem will indeed launch in 2015. I’d be surprised if this doesn’t turn out to be true!

Nintendo just announced a brand new Fire Emblem game for 3DS. Here’s what we know:

– Made by Intelligent Systems
– Kozaki Yusuke making designs
– Story by Shin Kibayashi

Watch the first trailer below:

It’s no wonder a game such as Super Smash Bros. has become the big hit it is today. Even after its near 15 year lifespan, it seems that the Smash community only grows larger and larger every day. I mean, a game where you get to mound Sonic the Hedgehog’s smug little face in with Mario’s fire-spouting fists as Mega Man tries to intervene for that one extra kill is already my game of the century based on that scenario alone. While the series is also known for its kick-ass gameplay that’s just simple enough while still providing the necessary elements to begin a huge competitive scene, it’s mainly known for accomplishing a seemingly impossible task and gathering together all of Nintendo’s star players and making it all seem so… right. As expected, there’s a huge roster of characters to select from, boasting characters from huge series’ such as Mario and Legend of Zelda all the way to lesser known series such as Earthbound and Fire Emblem. I thought it would be fun to delve deeper into some of the more unique newcomers’ history and analyze why the characters might’ve been chosen join the battle, so let’s go ahead and do that, shall we?
