Go! Go! Kokopolo Collector's Edition

Limited Run Games has shared details about the Go! Go! Kokopolo physical release on 3DS after it was first revealed in June.

Go! Go! Kokopolo – Harmonious Forest Revenge (2011) and Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D – Space Recipe For Disaster will be sold both standalone and as a Dual Pack. Additionally, a collector’s edition is in the works that contains the games on separate cartridges, a dual pack slipcover, original CD soundtrack, sticker sheets, and commemorative metal coin.

Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D was announced for the 3DS eShop way back in 2012. Since the initial reveal, there’s been a severe lack of news surrounding the game. However, on Twitter earlier today, publisher Circle Entertainment assured gamers that the project is still on track.

The tweet with character art is as follows::

The original Go! Go! Kokopolo was a DSiWare title. The mix of action, puzzle, and platforming elements ended up being very well received.

Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D, a sequel to the well-received DSiWare release of a similar name, was revealed way back in June 2012. Relatively little has been said about it since.

We still don’t know a heck of a lot about Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D, but Circle Entertainment – who is involved with the project – claims it’s still in the works. The company indicated that the game remains in development and is being improved.

Circle posted the following on Twitter yesterday:

Thanks to Jake for the tip.

Creator Keith Webb has finally provided an update on the 3DS eShop sequel to Go! Go! Kokopolo, and also explained why the original game is being pulled from DSiWare.

Regarding Go! Go! Kokopolo’s removal, Webb explained that publisher Room 4 Games shut down its office in the UK, which was used to bring the title to DSiWare. That means it can no longer be sold to consumers.

And how about Kokopolo 3D – Space Recipe For Disaster? It’s thankfully still in the works, but Webb “really can’t guarantee when that’ll be released.” We do at least know that the game will offer new levels, bosses, music intro’s, endings, and more. Currently, it’s about 60 percent complete.

Head past the break for all of Webb’s comments about Go! Go! Kokopolo and its sequel.

Go! Go! Kokopolo, one of the better-received DSiWare games, will be removed from DSiWare in just a few weeks. The team behind the game has confirmed officially that it won’t be available after August 31. It’s unclear why Go! Go! Kokopolo is being taken down.
