Rockstar Games has issued a statement surrounding the issues players have encountered with GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

All platforms have been plagued by various problems. On Switch, there have been reports of frame rate slowdown in particular. Each one of the games on all systems has also seen their fair share of bugs.

In its statement, Rockstar apologized to fans and promised updates. The first one, planned for the “coming days”, will “address a number of issue”.

Digital Foundry has started its technical analysis of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition by kicking things off with GTA III: The Definitive Edition, and as part of that, we have further information about the Switch version like frame rate and resolution.

Thursday was a big day for the Grand Theft Auto series. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launched on various platforms, bringing along updated versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It was particularly notable for Switch as these titles have never appeared on a Nintendo platform until now.

Rockstar Games worked with Grove Street Games on the remasters. They have new graphics, some updated gameplay, and even some Switch features like touch screen usage and gyro aiming.

The launch of these remasters have been a little bit rocky to say the least. There have been notable issues across all platforms, but as a Nintendo site, we’re naturally focusing on the Switch version. New screenshots of GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition have emerged from the Rockstar storer showing a first look at the Switch version.

Following previous speculation, Rockstar announced the redone versions of the classics last month. We then saw the debut trailer a couple of weeks ago. However, today’s images were captured specifically from the Switch version.
