According to a press release Level -5 will hold an event called, Level-5 The Vision 2015: The Beginning.

The event is scheduled for April 7 and will take place at Tokyo Dome City Hall. They are promising this event will be filled with tons of information where they will announce the”next generation major cross media project” that is being touted as being as big as Yokai Watch in terms of popularity.

They will also make new announcements for Fantasy Life 2 and the seventh installment of the Professor Layton series, which have already been announced some time ago. Yokai Watch 3 will also be discussed including details about the anime, toys, and more.

The event is expected to have numerous talks, live music, and will also be streamed live online.

Level-5 appears to be preparing two new Yo-Kai games. In the back pages of CoroCoro Comic’s latest issue, it’s revealed that Yo-Kai Watch 3 as well as Yo-Kai Watch Busters are in development.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 should come as no surprise given the franchise’s success. Yo-Kai Watch Busters is a bit more interesting. This was a game mode in Yo-Kai Watch 2, but is now getting a full-fledged release. Thus far, we know that Yo-Kai Watch Busters will allow up to four players to team up and take on boss yo-kai together.

We’ll be hearing about Yo-Kai Watch 3 and Yo-Kai Watch Busters in the next issue of CoroCoro Comics.

Yo-Kai Watch is starting to make its mark in the west. It was announced today that the hugely-successful franchise is coming to North America, Latin America, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia in toy form thanks to Hasbro. Hasbro will bring out the first round of Yo-Kai Watch toys in 2016.

Today’s announcement additionally states: “The Yo-Kai Watch cross-platform experience will also include additional broadcasting, video game and merchandising relationships to be announced later this year.” Perhaps we’ll finally hear about something with regard to localization of the Yo-Kai Watch games?

Level-5 International America wished its fans a happy holiday on Twitter and Facebook today. The company also included an image of Little Battlers Experience and Youkai Watch.

Youkai Watch’s success doesn’t stop at gaming and television. The series is making a splash in theaters, too.

Youkai Watch’s new movie earned $13.6 million (?1.6 billion) at the Japanese box office over a two day period this past weekend. The next closest film was Big Hero 6, which pulled in $5.4 million (?642 million). Despite being shown on only 408 screens, Youkai Watch doubled up on Disney’s movie (shown at 540 locations).

Youkai Watch 2: Shinuchi sold over 1.2 million copies in its first two days in Japan. Those strong sales also came with a very high sell-through rate. According to Media Create, Shinuchi sold through 84.77 percent of its initial shipment.

Strong sales of Youkai Watch 2: Shinuchi helped boost the Japanese market as a whole. Total software sales came in at 2.263 million units last week, up 210.80 percent from the previous week.
