Metroid Dread

Following the reveal of Metroid Dread, producer Yoshio Sakamoto held a Q&A session with members of the media. Bits and pieces have surfaced from that event, but not the full transcript. Thanks to Famitsu, we now have the entire discussion in full. 

Sakamoto addressed a variety of topics, including the very long wait for Metroid Dread, Samus’ character in the game, being influenced by Metroid Fusion’s SA-X, and more. Continue on below for our translation.

Nintendo has issued a “Report Vol. 3” for Metroid Dread. In today’s piece, the series’ past entries are covered in detail. Other aspects are also covered including the map, Samus’ abilities, and the Chozo.

Metroid Dread

The Japanese version of Metroid Dread’s teaser site just received it’s second batch of new information, including new game footage. Take a look with the video below.

Vol. 2 is currently only available on the Japanese site. We’ll be sure to keep you updated when the English version goes live.


Metroid Dread amiibo

As was the case with Metroid: Samus Returns, Nintendo will be offering new amiibo alongside the release of Metroid Dread. Samus and E.M.M.I. are the new figures.

For Metroid: Samus Returns, Nintendo teamed up with MercurySteam on development. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the same thing is happening with Metroid Dread. Nintendo’s Yoshio Sakamoto confirmed today that MercurySteam is working on the new Switch title as well.
