This month’s CoroCoro has started to leak, and has provided substantial information about Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee.
The big takeaway is that Mega Evolutions are officially in the game. Players can activate the feature when they have the Key Stone and the Pokemon’s associated Mega Stone.

Something that Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee touched on at E3 is the handling of Shiny Pokemon. With members of the press having access during the NintendoVSUK this past weekend, we have clarity on this element of the game.
Shiny Pokemon will have the same exact appearance as other Pokemon in the overworld, though there is one exception. These creatures have a small glimmer – or an aura. Players can look for small star-like particles above the Pokemon, which indicates that it’s a Shiny Pokemon. Simply touch the Pokemon and catch it before it disappears from the map in order to add it to your collection.

In this week’s issue of Famitsu, the Japanese magazine has a lengthy interview for Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee. Director Junichi Masuda was brought in to discuss the new Switch entry in the franchise.
Masuda spoke about the game’s graphics, making changes to core aspects of the series (like removing wild battles which was debated internally), the decision to use mechanics from Pokemon GO, and more. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee are throwing in a new wrinkle to Gyms. Before you can challenge one, you’ll need to clear requirements presented at the entrance. The games will have a variety of requirements, including certain Pokemon types, levels, and plenty more.
One example is with Pewter Gym. Before you can challenge Brock, you’ll be asked to present either a Grass-type or Water-type Pokemon.
It seems that the Gym Guide will be ensuring that you meet the proper requirements. In the past, they were known for providing hints and tips for battling the Gym or its leader.
