Football Manager Touch 2018 rated for Switch in South Korea

The South Korean rating board has rated Football Manager Touch 2018 for the Nintendo Switch. This game is a simplified version of the 2018 edition of the popular Football Manager series – this version puts the focus on transfers and tactics. As the name implies, it also features touch controls, which is likely part of the reason why it seems to be coming to the Switch. As always, a game getting an age rating is not a 100% confirmation of it being actually released, but it does make it extremely likely. We will keep you updated on any further developments.

GDC was packed with panels today, including a session dedicated to Sonic the Hedgehog. Game designer Hirokazu Yasuhara and character designer Naoto Oshima presented a post-mortem of the classic title’s creation.
One of the most interesting pieces of information shared during the panel was that the backstory involved a fighter pilot with Sonic painted on the nose of his plane. Yasuhara and Oshima even presented a massive original design document with an extensive story in Japanese.

Season Pass for Valkyria Chronicles 4 announced & details

A Season Pass for Valkyria Chronicles 4 was announced today by Sega on the official Japanese website. The Season Pass will cost 4,000 yen in Japan and will grant users access to four pieces of post-launch downloadable content.
We have the details and release dates for the additional content translated courtesy of Gematsu.
“Squad E, to the Sea!” (1,620 yen) – March 29
September, 1935 EC. The Federate Army attained a closed victory in the Battle of Sigwart, but in the midst of the army’s regruping, a certain order was issued to Squad E. A mission to gain control of the Empire’s most important supply route. Claude and company, who invaded the enemy’s transportation base, will have a showdown at the blue sea and white sandy beach of the Empire spread out there—.
*This scenario can be played after clearing Chapter 10. Clearing this scenario will unlock swimsuit costumes for Claude, Riley, Raz, Kai, and Minerva.
“Captainless Squad E” (1,080 yen) – April 5
Winter, 1935 EC—. Squad E linked up with the snow cruiser Centurion, but one day noticed the absence of the medic dog Ragnarok. The squad members that forgot to look after Ragnarok decided to depart on a reconnaissance mission to find Ragnarok in Claude and company’s absence. However, little do they know, it will be the start of a “picnic” that they could not have forseen coming…
*This scenario can be played after clearing Chapter 10.
“Raid Battle Hard-Ex” (1,080 yen) – April 12
Relief requests come in from a deathly battlefield. Six points on the battlefield were requesting relief, which Squad E must hit one by one. Can the elite Squad E respond to the relief reuqests on this chaotic battlfield!?
*This scenario can be played after clearing Chapter 18.
“The Two Valkyrias” (1,620 yen) – April 19
1933 EC. Sigwart Line, “the wall to victory,” finally saw its completion. However, behind the scenes, the determined to succeed Crymaria was about to take the Special Abilities Investigation Test. The auditor dispatched for her test was Imperial Army commander Selvaria Bles. Will the experiment be scrapped or continue? Crymaria’s fate was left to the two Valkyrias’ chance meeting.
*This scenario can be played after clearing Chapter 18. Clearing this scenario will unlock a unit and swimsuit costumes for Crymaria, Nikola, Chiara, and Selvaria.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be out on the Switch this summer in Japan and then later this year in fall in the Americas and Europe.

Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud released on the Japanese Switch eShop, service starts April 4

Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud is now available for download on the Japanese Switch eShop. But as we know, service won’t actually start until April 4. While you can download the game, you won’t be able to do much for now.
It’s worth pointing out that Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud has been notoriously difficult for those outside of Japan to access. Things could be the same on Switch, meaning fans in North America and Europe might be unable to play next month.
Phantasy Star Online 2 Cloud takes up 36.0MB of space.

Sonic Mania Plus pre-orders now open

Retailers are starting to take pre-orders for Sonic Mania Plus. Currently, Amazon has it here and GameStop has it here.
Sonic Mania Plus includes a physical copy of the game, a 32-page collector’s artbook, a reversible SEGA Genesis cover, and holographic packaging. The extra playable characters and new Encore Mode are also included.
In related pre-order news, Amazon started taking pre-orders for two more Switch releases today. You can reserve Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 here and Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles here.

SEGA likely teasing some sort of Sonic-related racing game

SEGA made several announcements during its Sonic panel at SXSW today. To close out the event, the company teased an entirely different project.
Aside from the teaser below, we don’t have anything to go on. But intuition would tell you that it’s some sort of Sonic-related racing game – especially given past rumors over the past couple of months.
No name or anything else for this one. SEGA only said that it isn’t a sequel to any of the Sonic games released thus far. Hopefully we’ll hear more in the near future.
