Eurogamer put up a new Octopath Traveler piece today featuring comments from producer Masashi Takahashi. Takahashi discussed the name, why the RPG is releasing on Switch, and the game’s potential future.

Fortnite is currently down for maintenance to implement the new Season 5 update. Alongside a host of other changes, this version will add a crucial feature to the Nintendo Switch version of the game: the option to use gyro controls.

Quite a bit is happening in Splatoon 2 tomorrow. The Pearl and Marina amiibo are finally being released and the game will also be updated to version 3.2.0. We don’t have the full English patch notes yet, but as always this update contains quite a few multiplayer balance changes. There are also several bug fixes and adjustments for the Octo Expansion.

Nintendo also revealed some new content coming to the game in a future update. First up is a new stage, Ancho-V Games:

Nintendo has provided a first look at the brand new Wolf amiibo that will be sold for Smash Bros. Ultimate. Wolf, in addition to Ridley and Inkling, will launch on December 7. Pricing is set at $15.99.

Nintendo has also announced that “many” of the original Smash Bros. amiibo will be re-released later this year. They’ll be sold for $12.99 each.

The Yakuza franchise has never really found a home on Nintendo consoles. Aside from Yakuza 1 & 2 on Wii U a few years ago, the series hasn’t appeared on a Nintendo platform.

Recently, French site Gameblog spoke with Yakuza producer Daisuke Sato. Sato was asked about the possibility of the series appearing on a system like Switch (and Xbox One). Unfortunately, the idea was mostly shot down with Sato pointing out the poor performance of Yakuza 1 & 2 on Wii U and stating that the system “may not be the ideal platform.”

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition

At Anime Expo 2018 this past weekend, Bandai Namco debuted a brand new trailer for Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition. The video has now been published for all to see online below.
