Warner Bros. Interactive and TT Games have readied a new “Darkness Rises” trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. This comes ahead of the title’s launch in just under two weeks.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the newest installment in the long-running LEGO series. Recently as part of a press preview, I had the opportunity to watch more than 40 minutes of gameplay for the title ahead of its launch and I came away quite impressed.

The game appears to be a departure from the classic LEGO formula. New layers of complexity are added to the gameplay, making the whole experience feel more engaging and truly different from past games in the series. Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, the LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm Games shared a new behind-the-scenes video, “Building the Galaxy”, for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

In it, fans can learn more about the extensive amount of content and sense of freedom the game offers. We’ve also got insight from the development team – specifically how they went about bringing the entire Star Wars galaxy to life with living and breathing versions of iconic locations found throughout the nine Skywalker Saga films, complete with signature LEGO humor. It also provides a look at the work that went into implementing weathering effects, differentiating sky colors, and bringing attention to every little detail unseen in previous LEGO video games.

Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm Games today unveiled details about DLC plans for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which will be presented with the Character Collection (Season Pass).

Seven packs are planned. Each one will feature playable characters including many from outside the nine saga films.

Warner Bros. Games, TT Games, the LEGO Group, and Lucasfilm Games today issued a new behind the scenes video for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It goes over the collaboration between the partners to deliver something special for fans, along with insight into some of the Easter eggs players will find in the game like Pew Pew Mode – which replaces all weapon sound effects with phonetic mouth noises that simulate blasters, lightsabers, and more.

LEGO Star Wars Skywalker Saga release date

It’s been a long time coming, but LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga finally has a release date. The game will arrive for Switch on April 5, Warner Bros. Interactive and TT Games revealed today.

We first heard about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in 2019 and it had originally been on track for release that year.  That target eventually slipped by and in August 2020, it was delayed to Spring 2021. Last April, it was pushed back indefinitely. Finally, last August, it was given a new Spring 2022 release window.
