The Great Ace Attorney 2 debuted in Japan during the week of July 31. Unfortunately, its sales weren’t entirely great.

Media Create reported a few days ago that The Great Ace Attorney 2 sold about 70,000 copies in its first week (80,000 if you count the double pack with the first game). As for Dengeki, their data is 10,000 units lower at about 60,000.

Dengeki further reports that The Great Ace Attorney 2 sold through 55 percent of its initial shipment. Unfortunately for Capcom, debut sales for the game and the sell-through rate are lower than the first title.

Dengeki says that the first entry in The Great Ace Attorney sub-series sold 139,000 units in its first week. It went on to sell 193,000 copies total.

The other aspect to consider here is that Capcom probably won’t be making up any sales outside of Japan. The Great Ace Attorney 1 never crossed over to North America and Europe, and the sequel will likely be the same.
