The giant streaming app that is Twitch has just now made its debut on Switch. An official app has been released, which is accessible from the eShop.

With Twitch, users can watch livestreams, esports, IRL broadcasts, and more. Sports are also featured with basketball, baseball, soccer, football, swimming, wrestling, hockey, pool, and more through talk shows like league channels and fantasy.

Switch is a bit limited when it comes to apps, but Twitch should help fill the void. Hulu came to Switch back in 2017, followed by YouTube a year later. Funimation also made its way to Switch last year. There are still some popular apps that haven’t appeared on Switch yet, with Netflix being a notable one.

You can download Twitch for Switch by accessing the official page on the eShop. Of course, it’s absolutely free to add to your system. English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese language options are supported.

Twitch technically first started out in 2007 when it was originally known as Justin.tv. It has evolved over the years, and got its final name in 2014. Amazon acquired the service soon after.
