Ubisoft’s relationship with Nintendo seems to be closer than ever. For two consecutive years, the company has announced major partnerships. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was first last year, followed by Star Fox in Starlink: Battle for Atlas at this year’s show.

Yves Guillemot spoke about collaborating with Nintendo and specifically working with Shigeru Miyamoto in a new interview. Guillemot told Geoff Keighley the following during YouTube Live at E3 last week:

“First, we have this game coming up – Starlink – and yes we are big fans of Mr. Miyamoto. In the last 30 years, we’ve been looking at what he was doing and we learned a lot from him, so being able to approach him and his teams is really something that is a wonderful experience for all the teams in Ubisoft. They love to collaborate, to learn from him, and this time again on Star Fox, it’s a good way to learn from him.”

Guillemot was also asked if Switch could see the release of bigger brands like Assassin’s Creed. In response, he said:

“We need to make sure that the brands are well-adapted to the machine and that they will fit with the public as well. When we decide to go on the machine, we are taking considerations of elements and also the capacity of the machine.”
