Along with today’s trailers, brand new details about Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon were added to the official website. The latest information covers the return of the island challenge plus the new Mantine Surf and Alola Photo Club features.<\/p>\n

Island Challenges Revisited<\/strong><\/p>\n

The island challenge is a ritual passed down in the Alola region. Its intention is to help children grow into full-fledged Pok\u00e9mon Trainers. To complete the island challenge, you must face trials on each of four islands.<\/p>\n

Some trials in Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Sun and Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Moon seem to play out in different ways than they did in Pok\u00e9mon Sun and Pok\u00e9mon Moon.<\/p>\n

The trials are hosted by the captains found on each island. The content of the trials can vary from running around the area to trying to solve puzzles. At the end of each trial, you\u2019ll face a powerful Pok\u00e9mon known as a totem. If you defeat it, you\u2019ll complete the trial. The final trial of each island is the grand trial, where you face off in battle against the leader of that island\u2014the island kahuna!<\/p>\n

Mina<\/p>\n

There\u2019s even a new trial with Mina, one of the captains who serve as guides for these trials.<\/p>\n

Hau<\/p>\n

Hau is a boy who becomes your friend as soon as you move to Alola. He\u2019s the same age as you. Hau is known to be a laid-back guy, but through the island challenge, he will come to terms with his reasons for participating in Pok\u00e9mon battles.<\/p>\n

Lillie<\/p>\n

Lillie is a girl about your age. She\u2019s acting as Professor Kukui\u2019s assistant for her own reasons. After experiencing many things during her adventures with you, Lillie will discover a new side of herself.<\/p>\n

It has been revealed that the mysterious Pok\u00e9mon shown on the Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Sun and Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Moon packages is in fact Necrozma, after it has taken over the Legendary Pok\u00e9mon Solgaleo or Lunala. These forms of Necrozma are called Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma.<\/p>\n

During your island challenge, you\u2019ll be confronted with troubles involving the Legendary Pok\u00e9mon Necrozma. You\u2019ll meet mysterious people and Pok\u00e9mon as you witness the new danger closing in on the Alola region.<\/p>\n

Ride the Waves with Mantine Surf!<\/strong><\/p>\n

In Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Sun and Pok\u00e9mon Ultra Moon, you\u2019ll be able to have fun with Mantine Surf, a sport that lets you do some surfing while riding on Mantine\u2019s back. Mantine Surf isn\u2019t just a way to get between islands\u2014it\u2019s also a sport where you compete for the highest score by pulling off different cool moves! Try to become a top-notch Mantine Surfer by riding Mantine like a pro!<\/p>\n

Dash Around Alola with Ride Pok\u00e9mon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Once you get the Ride Pager item, you\u2019ll be able to go on Ride Pok\u00e9mon and reach places you couldn\u2019t get to before. As you progress through your adventure, you\u2019ll meet and then gain access to various Ride Pok\u00e9mon. Dash through the world of Alola with the help of Pok\u00e9mon!<\/p>\n

Take Great Photos with the Alola Photo Club<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take all sorts of photos with the Pok\u00e9mon you like at the brand-new Alola Photo Club! You choose the Pok\u00e9mon to appear together with you in the photo, as well as your outfit, the background, camera angle, and more, so you can take the perfect picture. Get an amazing photo with your favorite Pok\u00e9mon\u2014and show it off to your friends!

After the shoot, you\u2019ll be able to decorate your photo with frames and stickers. You\u2019ll also be able to show other players the photos you took through communication features.<\/p>\n
