After it was announced last week, Nippon Ichi Software has shared the first details and screenshots for Yomawari 3<\/strong><\/a>. We have information about what to expect from gameplay and more.<\/p>\n

Here’s the full rundown, courtesy of Gematsu<\/strong><\/a>:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

– Yomawari 3 inherits the atmosphere of its predecessors, but has evolved with newly added elements
\n– To break her curse, the protagonist wanders around the town at night in search of forgotten \u201cmemories\u201d<\/p>\n

Story<\/strong><\/p>\n

– The protagonist woke up in an unfamiliar, dark forest
\n– She did not know how she ended up there
\n– She can only remember that she went to the school rooftop around sunset after school
\n– As she wanders around in the thick forest, she meets a mysterious figure with no form
\n– \u201cA strong curse has been placed upon you,\u201d that person told her in a somewhat familiar voice
\n– \u201cYou must remember something important which you have forgotten\u201d by the end of the night in order to break the curse, the person said
\n– In search of those important memories, the protagonist ran off into the eerie town at night<\/p>\n

Track Down Lost Memories<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Nighttime exploration action game
\n– The young protagonist wanders into town at night in search of \u201cmemories\u201d that act as clues to break her curse
\n– Frightening \u201cspirits\u201d lurk in the town\u2019s darkness
\n– Rely on your flashlight and heartbeat to escape the spirits and track down your lost memories<\/p>\n

Guided by a Faint Light<\/strong><\/p>\n

– The protagonist has only the flashlight in her hand to rely on
\n– By shining the light in the darkness, she can uncover \u201cdropped items\u201d that will help in her search for memories, as well as see the spirits that maliciously approach her<\/p>\n

Spirits Lurk in the Darkness of the Night<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Eerie, frightening spirits lurk in the empty town at night
\n– They stare at the protagonist from the darkness of the night, beneath the flickering streetlights and upon narrow streets where the light does not reach
\n– Light them up with your flashlight, throw rocks to distract them, and escape the spirit\u2019s pursuit in a variety of ways
\n– If you spot a spirit, run away from that area
\n– The protagonist can only run a for a limited amount of time<\/p>\n

\u201cClose Your Eyes\u201d to Hide from the Spirits<\/strong><\/p>\n

– By closing your eyes, your presence disappears and the spirits will lose sight of you.
\n– Sometimes stopping, closing your eyes, and hiding may be the only way to escape the fear
\n– Even with your eyes closed, the spirit is still there
\n– Keep your eyes closed, keep distant from spirits, and escape to a safe place
\n– When you close your eyes, spirits will no longer approach you, but the spirit\u2019s location will be covered by a red fog which you’ll want to avoid<\/p>\n

Important Forgotten \u201cMemories\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

– The protagonist\u2019s goal is to remember the memories she has forgotten and find a way to break her curse
\n– Find \u201cwhat she lost\u201d somewhere in town to recall scenes that she had forgotten
\n– You can look back on memories when you return home
\n– Use your memories to find a way to break the curse<\/p>\n

Walk through the Vast Town at Night<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Haunted areas are scattered throughout the night town
\n– Each of these places can be visited at any time
\n– Locations include a school in the dead of night, a rural town with terraced rice fields, a doll house in a bamboo forest
\n– Visit various locations where related spirits lurk and lost memories are hidden
\n– Head out into the eerie, somewhat familiar night town in search of your forgotten memories<\/p>\n
