Aonuma: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD “definitely possible”

Posted on June 14, 2016 by (@NE_Brian) in News

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

This information comes from Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma…

“Yeah it’s definitely possible. As I mentioned earlier in the presentation, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a result of what we wanted to expand and make a better Skyward Sword. It’s like an evolved or expanded version.”

“Putting out an HD version of Skyward Sword and tossing that into the mix might be a little weird,” he said. “It’s always a possibility, so I really don’t know.”

Skyward Sword HD would be great, but the game requires the Wiimote to play, so it seems unlikely to happen in a new system.

I haven’t played Skyward Sword but would a system similar to “For Honor” work?

      • Exposer

        But with motion controls

    • TalesOfBS

Why? Pretty much everyone owns wiimotes nowadays, many of them sometimes….

The original required you to get a Wii Motion Plus or a Wii Remote Plus, and there were bundles that included either the accessory or the controller. Thus, I do not think it would be much of a problem this time around, especially considering that many people have both and they are also relatively cheap to find used and new.

Hopefully, it’d be with improved controls.

The controls were near perfect – especially the revelatory sword fighting and that mechanical beetle item. Perhaps the fault lied in your inability to adapt to them?

      • Coonfoot

I actually never played it. I’m just going by what I heard.

I would love for that to happen. Skyward Sword is my 2nd favorite Zelda game next to Majora’s Mask. I am probably one of the few people that might think this, but I actually really liked the controls. For me this game and Wii Sports was what the Wii was built for. While I still have an original copy of the game, I much rather play it on Dolphin as opposed to on a Wii/Wii U because the graphics look very pixelated on a 1080p TV, but a remake with some of the lighting improvements from WWHD would be awesome.

i loved the controls too, they were perfect. and i’m sad they aren’t on breath of wild.

    Don’t bother. It’s dog sh!t.

    • Pay strict attention to what I say, because I choose my words carefully, and I never repeat myself twice from me, you don’t have to take nearly every opportunity by your obsession to badmouth Nintendo in some form. Try to have a honest inner conversation with yourself how all of this makes you feel better. Repeating the same thing over and over and over and over and over again you’re reflecting on your own issues that you can’t admit you have.

From this point is easy to predict on, every response will end the same thing bad mouthing each opportunity by your obsession to Nintendo. As you information I come on these boards all I want and not own Wii U/3DS console, if I don’t like something I don’t buy it, I express myself and leave. This is a public board after all, in the end you can do whatever you want with your life, but come here over and over and over and over and over and over always everyday to bashing Nintendo……come on! If you don’t like Nintendo games, management and not filling your expectations as a gamer. Simple move on to PS, Xbox and PC.

    • Ouch……

    • MagcargoMan

Twilight Princess was ten years ago… I feel old now.

  • RoadyMike

No thanks, I’m good with TPHD

  • MagcargoMan

Do you really need to remake every 3D Zelda, Aonuma? Will there be a Breath of the Wild remake within ten years?

    • Do Nintendo fans need to complain about remasters? They buy and play them just like a random PS4 player.

      • MagcargoMan

There’s no need to remake every game in the series. That’s absurd. That’s almost Pokemon level rehashery.

        • SomeUser

Why not? We might get an Impa amiibo like with the Minda amiibo with Twilight Princess HD. I KNOW you want an Impa amiibo.

          • MagcargoMan

It’s just ridiculous to have two versions of most Zelda games. It doesn’t help that Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD only added some minor content changes instead of fixing some larger problems of the originals (two dungeons were cut in the former and Zant’s manchild behaviour being unforeshadowed in the latter). Now Super Mario 64 DS, that was a remake that added a lot of new content.

Just because I want someone in Smash doesn’t mean I want their amiibo. I wanted Robin in Smash but I don’t want his amiibo.

          • SomeUser

Then that sucks if you don’t want an Impa amiibo.
