During today’s Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Arena of Valor is heading to Switch. The MOBA will have a beta this winter.
This is huge news. Arena of Valor is currently one of the biggest games in China. Being a Switch console exclusive could help the game become a big deal elsewhere as well.
This is an excellent partnership between Nintendo and Tencent. I never believed for a second that Tencent would support dedicated gaming systems, let alone Nintendo.
This will only help the Game gain recognition in the Eastern markets, but most parts in Asia will probably explode for Switch demand from what I am hearing.
Western market may not look at it twice entirely.
I don’t think the Switch has been released in China yet. But if it does, and if Nintendo is smart, this will be a launch title.
I said Asia, not just China, and that Switch is in multiple markets of, and all generally have the same response to what’s big in other Asian countries. Similar to how EU and NA generally go for the same market mind.
I think the Switch is available in Hong Kong and maybe Korea, but that’s it. Nintendo’s presence in Asia is sorely lacking. This game could be a catalyst if Nintendo decides to take Asia seriously.
Holy fudge this was some big news to me! That game looked such fun and I want right now!
