Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will be on Switch in early 2018

Natsume has announced that the Switch version of Harvest Moon: Light of Hope is planned for early 2018 on Switch. The game will cost $30 on Steam, so we’re expecting a somewhat similar price on Nintendo’s console. Also, a physical version is once again confirmed.

Find some additional information about Harvest Moon: Light of Hope below. We have new screenshots in the gallery as well.

In Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, players begin the game as they set out looking for a fresh start and new surroundings. During their voyage, their ship is hit by a monsoon and goes down. As they drift into a small harbor town, now in a shambles from the storm, it will be up to the player to help rebuild the town and save the lighthouse…but it won’t be easy! Nevertheless, with some hard work growing crops, tending livestock, and gathering materials for repairs, players will be able to make new friends, start a family, revive the lighthouse, and save the town!

Harvest Moon: Light of Hope includes new features such as repairing, which enables the player to repair destroyed homes and unlock new shops, characters, farming tools, and farming land. The Farming Friend is another new addition, which helps players grow abundant crops. The game also introduces a retro plus feel, with classic SNES inspired graphics alongside some modern features in honor of the 20th anniversary. And in addition to these new features will be some familiar faces from previous Harvest Moon titles.

If it’s decent I’ll pick it up but I honestly haven’t had interest in this franchise passed the ds era.

The true Harvest Moon games changed to Story of Seasons after the like 2nd 3DS game. The newer Harvest Moon games are Natsume trying to trick poor people out of their money.

You should find a copy of Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, it was truly a breath of fresh air for the series after the DS games all had middling quality. Don’t touch the later 3DS games as they’re crap and just do what the commenter below you stated. Story of Seasons is where the true franchise went.

I loved that game. The first 3DS game that I owned, other than the copy of Mario 3D Land that came with the system.

I loved that it had a dedicated Online community that didn’t die a month after it’s release. It also was the first game to introduce Skin Tones(I believe right?) and the Lore&World were just darling. My only complaints were that you could feel how empty some areas were and the the change to those 3D character models just jarring. I really miss the old artstyle and 2Dness. I hope Marvelous takes Story of Seasons and pushes it to the max in beautiful artstyles.

I love Story Of Seasons: Trio Of Towns. <3

I don’t know why they continue to just tarnish the great name that was once Harvest Moon…

    • TheChosen

Has nothing to do with the developer dude…But yeah. They are different developers now. But it´s not on them if the hardware changes so much…it has nothing to do with the hardware they used 20 years ago lol!

I’ll give it this: the story premise actually sounds interesting and engaging, and the art is better than the last two installments. But that was a particularly low bar to begin with. It’s competing with Story of Seasons AND Stardew Valley, both of which are fuller, more richer experiences.

It’s a pity they had to split. Story of Seasons has all the quality, but no brand recognition. Harvest Moon has the name, but can’t seem to make anything that lives up to it. And Stardew Valley is amazing, but it’s never going to be a series.

    • Auragar

Well ConcernedApe (the developer of Stardew Valley) is making a new game that takes place in the same world as Stardew Valley but yeah no sadly it isn’t a sequel or another entry in the series, though the parent company is making a game that is a lot like Stardew Valley, but based on Witches at an academy, so slightly different but yeah.

The game art style looks like any generic low budget mobile game..

Just going to sit out and wait for a Rune Factory announcement.

    • Auragar

The company that makes Rune Factory went under so I don’t think you will ever get one sadly.

      • Psion

The developer went under. But the rights to the series are still in Marvelous’ hands. Plus they said they wanted to keep it going. And most of the RF dev team now work for them. With the creator of the series being a producer at the company.

      Good joke 😉

  • DrGreenthumb28

Still waiting for the Story of Seasons on Switch we were promised Marvelous……When are we going to see some footage??!!!

  • tHe_MaN_wItH_nO_hAnD

yea, i think i’ll just stick with stardew valley

    • TheChosen

      Both are crap…xD

Well, big crap i mean. PoS-type of crap 😉

Stardew Valley is clearly another overhyped title. Bad music, bad graphics and bad gameplay as well (oho and buggy my dude i heard!).

The real Harvest Moon is soon coming to 3DS in winter.

Are you a troll or an idiot?

  • Jeannette Blanchard

It’s graphics are worse than 3DS games.
It should only cost $10 for those graphics.
