Abathor

Publisher JanduSoft, in partnership with developer Pow Pixel Games, today announced a new Switch version of Abathor. It will be available on July 25, 2024.

Abathor is a 2D platformer “with action roguelite influences”. For those interested in playing with friends, up to four people can experience the game locally.

Here’s some additional information about what to expect:

Abathor is an epic 16-bit adventure for up to 4 players in local mode. Traverse the entire continent of Atlantis and delve into lore based on Plato’s writings and Athanasius’ map. More than 50 levels with many challenges await the players in this new & retro arcade game developed by a small game studio. A journey into 80s & 90s nostalgia.

The Atlantean civilization has angered the gods. They have sent hordes of monsters to punish Atlantis by destroying the continent. Players must cooperate to save Atlantis, going through a series of challenges of increasing difficulty.

In their progress, our heroes will fight against ferocious demons and primordial gods, against the living and against the dead, against flying beasts and crawling horrors. They will dodge dangers and traps and descend into chilling abysses. But they will also compete against each other for the loot and the spoils, plundering treasures and offering them to the gods to receive their favor.
