The Long Dark

Hinterland Studio is trying to bring The Long Dark to Switch. The developer has posted an official job listing in which a Unity programmer will be hired to work on a port.

The Long Dark is described as “a thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness in the aftermath of a geomagnetic disaster.” It found quite a bit of success on Steam last year, and has been migrating to other platforms since then.

Here’s a bit more about the game, along with a trailer:

The Long Dark is a thoughtful, exploration-survival experience that challenges solo players to think for themselves as they explore an expansive frozen wilderness. Monitor your Condition, search for life-saving supplies, and master survival skills like fire-building, maintaining your gear, hunting, fishing, and landmark-based navigation. There are no zombies — only you, the cold, and everything Mother Nature can throw at you.
