Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition

Tales of Vesperia originally launched for the Xbox 360 around a decade ago. It came to the PlayStation 3 a year later as a Japanese-exclusive release with new content, including a bunch of additional voice work. The west is finally getting everything in the form of Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition.

The one unfortunate aspect here concerns the voice work. For Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, voice actor Troy Baker says he was “never approached to do any additional lines/scenes.” Baker voiced Yuri Lowell, the RPG’s main protagonist, in the original English version.

It’s unclear who is voicing Yuri for the new lines. Had Baker been contacted, he definitely would have been open to reprising his role.

Baker wrote on Twitter after hearing about a different actor playing the role of Yuri for the new lines:

“Pretty gutted, to be honest. Love this character so much, would’ve jumped at the chance to step into those boots again.”
