Action-adventure RPG Orange Island coming to Switch
Former SEGA designer Ted Sterchi recently took his project Orange Island to Kickstarter in hopes of getting the action-adventure RPG funded. The £15,000 goal was quickly reached, and has even surpassed £50,000. Thanks to the Kickstarter success, the game will be made for Switch.

Orange Island is a new retro single-player 8-bit action-adventure platformer game being developed by former SEGA designer Ted Sterchi. This game is being carefully developed to be a completely authentic experience, fully created under the graphic and audio specifications of the NES.
6+ hours of gameplay with vast areas built for non-linear exploration
A touching and timely story told via cutscenes and conversations
Five playable characters with individual magical abilities and stats
8-bit graphics, chiptune audio, and gameplay authentic to the NES
A unique pastel pixel art style
Engaging puzzles with retro side-scrolling platformer mechanics
Side-quests and activities to complete in numerous towns, inns, and shops
Diverse characters and themes created by a queer developer
No microtransactions, loot boxes, or gambling nonsense
“Shoot-em-up” sequences with classic spaceship combat
