Metroidvania game Rebel Transmute confirmed for Switch
Rebel Transmute, a Metroidvania game with a hand-painted pixel art aesthetic, will be seeing release on Switch following a successful Kickstarter campaign. Evan Tor Games reached its $17,000 funding goal to help make the project a reality. Additionally, in the final days of the campaign, a $24,000 Switch stretch goal was reached.
Rebel Transmute has you taking on the role of a space scrapper, Moon Mikono, who goes on a mission to uncover the true fate of her missing mother. Along the way, you can swap out augments to suit your playstyle and there are about 50 upgrades. On top of that, you can use spells known as Bloodcasts plus your Foray-issued Blaster.
True to the Metroidvania genre, many different areas can be explored. Locations include the Overgrowth with vibrant greenery, Coral Fissure and its fluorescent reefs, and the Surface with the sparkblood crystals. In order to navigate the world, you’ll want to make use of the versatile mapping system. Rebel Transmute has custom markers, the ability to track your completion percentage, and hidden terminals to uncover unexplored areas.
Naturally, combat is a big part of Rebel Transmute. Expect to encounter over 80 unique enemies and over 10 formidable bosses such as mutated worms, electrified beasts, rogue AIs, and gigantic bugs.
