Core Keeper delayed

July 31: Core Keeper, which was originally expected on Switch in about a month, has now been delayed.

The team put out a statement today that the title will now be releasing on September 17, 2024. Originally, it was slated for August 27. Note that the move affects both the physical release and digital version of the game.

As for why the delay is happening, Pugstorm explained that the team needs “to take the extra time to ensure that Core Keeper is the best experience possible at launch”. Further specifics weren’t provided.

The full statement from Pugstorm is as follows:

“We want players to experience Core Keeper at its very best and have had to make the tough decision to push the release date back for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions by a few weeks. While we know this will disappoint players looking forward to the game on those platforms, it’s important for us to take the extra time to ensure that Core Keeper is the best experience possible at launch, no matter where you play.”

October 11: As another update, Core Keeper should have what we’re hoping is its final release date on Switch. After it was hit with another quiet delay (the game did not launch in August), Fireshine Games and Pugstorm say that it’s now launching next week – October 17. We’ll let you know if there are any further changes.
