Today, Other Tales Interactive announced that it’s putting Miniatures on Switch. It’ll be releasing on November 14, 2024.

Miniatures is a thought-provoking collection of interactive short stories. Players will explore a vast seascape, build odd furniture, feed a lizard, and play with sand castles.

More information can be found in the following overview:

Explore, interact, and watch the world shift. In this peculiar, artist-led experience, reconnect with the wonder, magic, and loneliness of childhood through four handcrafted, visually captivating stories based on the strange objects found in an old wooden box. Open the box and open your mind – who knows what curious things you’ll discover in there?

An award-winning arthouse experience that truly embodies the idea of games as art (A MAZE Berlin 2024’s WINGS Award, Digital Vikings Awards 2024’s Best Upcoming Game Art Style), dive into a distinct narrative adventure inspired by graphic novels, contemporary adventure games, and the bittersweet memories we all share of growing up.

Engage with dreamlike puzzles – build unusual objects, inspect curious items, and untangle the threads of lost memories – and reflect on what it is to be a child, for all its beauty and all its strangeness. For players on Switch, puzzles take on an additional tactile dimension through intuitive touch controls.

Split across four short stories, explore one tale at a time or curl up to play them all in a single sitting. You’ll likely only need 45 minutes to fully savour this wondrous little game – especially perfect for busy modern gamers looking to stop, think, and breathe.

Tanja Tankred, the game’s writer, said today: “Miniatures was born out of a love for picture books, animated short films, and experimental storytelling. Through lots of exploration we ended up with this slightly strange, eerie, and at the same time nostalgic anthology that we are very proud to release into the world.”
