Visual novel Road59: Shin Jidai Ninkyou Tokku – Matenrou Monochrome Kousou planned for Nintendo Switch

Publisher Bushiroad Games and developer Rocket Studio are teaming up on the new project Road59: Shin Jidai Ninkyou Tokku – Matenrou Monochrome Kousou, the two sides have announced. A release is scheduled for Fall 2025.

Road59: Shin Jidai Ninkyou Tokku – Matenrou Monochrome Kousou is a visual novel. Alongside Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese will be supported.

Here’s an overview of the title via Bushiroad:

Road59 is a human drama series set in the sleepless city of “Tenkai Ward” in Tokyo Bay in the near future, depicting the lives of gangsters who fight using special abilities called “Jingi” that are passed down through a blood cup. Starting with the stage play, the series has since expanded into a voice drama and a comic book serialization on Magapoke.

This title, which will be the first to be adapted into a visual novel game, will tell a story that depicts the lives of each character, who are sometimes forced to make the choice to “betray” something they cannot compromise on, using a system that is unique to visual novel games.

In addition, the stage cast, including Shuya Sunagawa as Shou Himuro and Hiroki Nanami as Shion Hinata, will also be providing character voices for the game.
