Nintendo Switch 2 getting a Piranha Plant camera
A listing has appeared on MediaMarkt, which shows that Nintendo Switch 2 Camera will be receiving an alternate edition based on the Piranha Plant from the Super Mario series.
HORI, which has made a ton of add-ons for the current Nintendo Switch over the years, is behind the product. The listing does not provide any information, but it should function exactly the same as Nintendo’s official camera. The Big N is actually publishing the Piranha Plant version – at least in Europe. It also seems that HORI’s version is €39.99 as opposed to Nintendo’s official €59.99 product.
The camera peripheral was announced yesterday during a Nintendo Direct, which ties into the console’s new GameChat feature. It’s possible for up to four friends to share their screen. With the camera, users can video chat as well.

Nintendo Switch 2 launches on June 5, 2025 and the camera add-on will be out on the same day. Although users need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription in order to use GameChat, it will be free until March 31, 2026. Read more about it here. You can also check out the MediaMarkt listing here.
