Gloomy Eyes announced for Nintendo Switch
Untold Tales has announced that the visually stunning Gloomy Eyes is coming to Nintendo Switch.
Originally released in VR back in 2020, the game is now being ported to consoles, and players will be able to enjoy it without a headset. Despite not having a release date yet, Gloomy Eyes is narrated by Colin Farrell and tells the story of a sun that, tired of humanity, chooses to disappear and never rise again.
We’ve got more info in the following overview:
When the sun grew tired of humans, it decided to hide away and never rise again…
The darkness awakened the dead from their graves. A decade after the sun withdrew and twilight blanketed the world, an oppressive leader made it illegal to be a zombie—simply existing became a crime. The undead were forced to hide in the forest, far from the dangerous zombie hunters. At night, when the hunters retreat to their homes, the cold, sunless world becomes calm and silent. A zombie boy named Gloomy wanders alone, out of sight… But this zombie is different. The truth is, he doesn’t feel very comfortable around others of his kind. Gloomy isn’t like other zombies. There is something inside him that we cannot see or understand.
But nature knows he is special.
Unexpected love, a light in the darkness…
By an unlikely twist of fate—or perhaps through the mysterious powers of nature—a human girl and a zombie boy fall in love. Nena is no ordinary girl. Born into the cold darkness and knowing no other way of life, she is the niece of humanity’s strict leader. But Gloomy and Nena don’t care about that. They form an immediate, unbreakable bond—strong enough to bring light back to their shadowy city. Can their unusual love survive in a world where the living and the dead cannot coexist peacefully?
Gloomy Eyes is, above all, a love story—and a tale of magic.
At its core, Gloomy represents all of us.
It’s a story about being different, about belonging, and about the strangeness and improbability of finding love. The unlikely connection between Gloomy and Nena transcends loneliness, fear, and fanaticism.
Step into a universe of breathtaking magic and adventure.
Delight in a miniature world, enchantingly mysterious and in constant motion. Narrated by an old gravekeeper (Colin Farrell), as well as Tahar Rahim (French), Max Riemelt (German), Jorge Drexler (Spanish), and Jam Hsiao (Mandarin). This moving story of tenderness brings magic and light to a land haunted by darkness. Gloomy Eyes is a three-part animated VR series in 6DoF and real-time 3D.
