Soma release date revealed for Nintendo Switch, new trailer

Posted on July 8, 2025 by in News, Switch

The renowned horror game from Abylight has officially received a release date for Nintendo Switch. Soma, originally launched for PC back in 2015, is making its way to the console on July 24, 2025.

Developed by Frictional Games, Soma is a first-person sci-fi horror experience set in a remote underwater research facility. Players must uncover the mystery behind the facility’s downfall while facing unsettling encounters, psychological tension, and existential themes that challenge the concept of consciousness and identity.

Here’s a bit of information about the game:

SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, the same creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It’s a gripping story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human.

The radio is dead, the food is running out, and the machines have started to think they’re people. The underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered a terrible isolation, and you’ll be forced to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What still makes sense? What’s left that’s still worth fighting for?

Enter the world of SOMA and face the horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Search through locked terminals and hidden documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Look for the last remaining survivors and take part in events that will determine the fate of the station. But be careful — danger lurks around every corner: corrupted humans, bizarre creatures, insane robots, and even a mysterious, all-seeing A.I.

You’ll have to figure out how to deal with each of them. And remember, there’s no fighting back — outsmart your enemies or be prepared to run.
