Nintendo’s new port studio is behind WWE 2K25 on Switch 2

Following the recent release of WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2, we now have confirmation about the team that handled the port.

Shiver Entertainment seems to be behind the game. That information comes from a LinkedIn hiring page, which cites WWE 2K25 on Nintendo’s new console as one of its more recent releases.

Shiver Entertainment has been around for awhile, but the studio is new to the Nintendo family. Last year, the Big N announced that it had acquired the company, which came as a surprise at the time. You can find more information about that here.

Compared to WWE 2K18 on Switch – which was the last time the series appeared on a Nintendo system – WWE 2K25 has seen a much better reception. It helps that a different team was involved. For the WWE 2K18 Nintendo Switch edition, Blind Squirrel Games ported it over (you may also recognize that studio name from Sonic Colors: Ultimate). WWE 2K18 does at least run significantly better on Nintendo Switch 2 via backwards compatibility, but that’s simply due to the system’s added power.

WWE 2K25 is currently available on Nintendo Switch 2.
