Now’s your chance to tell Nintendo how you feel about Switch 2 game-key cards
If you haven’t been happy with the game-key card situation on Switch 2, now you have the opportunity to share your thoughts with Nintendo.
Fans have come across a new survey issued in the United States about physical and digital media. Participants can field various questions about purchasing preferences for physical and digital games, retail releases that have a code-in-box, and game-key cards.
One of the key points of the survey asks about certain reasons why they’d prefer purchasing physical games over digital. Options include “I like collecting physical games”, “It’s easier to gift physical games to others”, and “Physical games provide a stronger sense of ownership.”
We’ve gone over this many times before, but game-key cards have now sat well with Nintendo Switch 2 fans due to the nature of the product. While they’re retail releases with cartridges, there’s nothing on the cart itself. Users still need to download the entire game from the internet before they can play. This destroys the appeal for collectors since they’re closer to digital titles than physical releases.
