Beef Cat Ultra, auto-shooter with Game-Boy aesthetic, out on Nintendo Switch this week
Beef Cat Ultra will appear on Nintendo Switch this week, according to developer Brainium Games. It’ll be ready to go on February 7, 2025.
Beef Cat Ultra is an auto-shooter at its core, and also features a Game-Boy aesthetic. After a mysterious Big Guy shows up and stirs up trouble and the adventure begins.

In the quaint, happy world of Beeflandia – our hero, Beef Cat, and friends always found ways to celebrate good times. The vibes certainly changed, however, when Some Big Guy showed up and started causing a ruckus.

Always Be Ready to Adapt
- Beeflandia always finds ways to change the game, so be prepared to adapt on the fly.
- Survivors has you scrambling through hand-crafted stages collecting items and beating baddies for a certain time limit. Recognizable and classic Survivors gameplay
- Gauntlet has you exploring linear stages destroying enemy spawners while you collect keys and unlock gates like the classic Gauntlet series.
- Collectathon has you exploring set piece focused stages in the hunt to find all the collectible gemmies
- Horde has you in a tight arena with a regular timed interval of upgrades and tasks you with defeating a certain number of a specific enemy
- Boss stages put you against large multi-attack based boss foes in tight arenas with a limited toolkit
- Volleyball and Deathmatch pit you in tight competitive arenas against either AI opponents or another real player via shared screen local play
Retro Progression
- Navigate a retro over-world map as you clear stages in a somewhat loose order that allows you to pick and choose your favorite game modes.
- Find tents in the world map to unlock new playable characters that have distinct play styles ranging from completely defensive kits to kits focused on speed and critical hits.
- Use the coins you collect in stages at shops to buy permanent stat boosts or unlock shortcuts and more.
