Bit Boy Arcade 2 planned for Nintendo Switch 2
Today, Bplus announced plans to bring Bit Boy Arcade 2 to Nintendo Switch 2. A release window was not provided.
If the name sounds familiar, that’s because the original Bit Boy Arcade previously had an appearance on Nintendo 3DS over a decade ago. Now on Nintendo Switch 2, it’s getting “a full-scale rebirth”.
Here’s what’s been shared thus far:
Bit Boy!! Arcade 2 is a bold, modern reimagining of the beloved Bit Boy Arcade, originally released on Nintendo 3DS in 2014. While the heart of the original adventure remains – including its nostalgic story beats, iconic monsters, and fan-favorite level designs – Bit Boy!! Arcade 2 is an entirely new game built from the ground up.
Every single element has been recreated and evolved for the Nintendo Switch 2:
- All-new gameplay mechanics, phases, and enemy types bring fresh challenges.
- Completely rebuilt 3D models, textures, and animations push the series into a new era.
- Every line of code rewritten to maximize performance and responsiveness.
- A brand-new soundtrack, alongside reimagined classics, keeps the energy high and the retro vibes alive.
- Crafted in Unity’s HD Render Pipeline, taking full advantage of the Switch 2’s next-gen features like ray tracing, real-time reflections, and advanced ambient occlusion.
And introducing an all-new Construct World, where you’ll uncover the secrets behind actual game development.
This isn’t just a remaster. It’s not a remake. Bit Boy!! Arcade 2 is a full-scale rebirth — a true successor that pushes every boundary of what the original aspired to be.
