Boot up animation for NX, original name for Switch, has been revealed
Game preservationist Paul Kelly has revealed the boot up animation for NX, the console that eventually turned into the Switch.
Nintendo announced NX in March 2015 during the same event revealing its partnership with DeNA for mobile apps. The news was intended to assuage fears that the Big N was abandoning the console space.
Nintendo consistently referred to its upcoming console as NX. It would end up taking nearly two years for the system to be properly unveiled as Switch.
As for the boot up animation, it looks to be tied to a leak of a prototype build for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The build was dated October 18, 2016. Nintendo did share a logo for NX used at events such as investor briefings, but no one had seen the boot up animation until now.
Here’s the brief video showing it off:

Many fans likely remember how quiet Nintendo was when it came to NX – which again, turned into the Switch. Alongside the near two year wait for the proper unveil, only a trailer was initially shown. Fans had to wait until January 2017 for the full blowout at the Nintendo Switch Presentation. The console would end up launching just two months later.
